Richard Wagner
Wilhelm Richard Wagner (Leipzig, 22 de maio de 1813 — Veneza, 13 de fevereiro de 1883) foi um compositor, maestro, teórico musical, ensaista e poeta alemão, considerado um dos expoentes do romantismo e dos mais influentes compositores de música erudita já surgidos.
Wagner foi responsável por inúmeras inovações para a música, tanto em termos de composição quanto em termos de orquestração. Como compositor de óperas, criou um novo estilo, grandioso, cuja influência sobre a música da época e posterior foi forte. Como poeta, escreveu o libreto de todas as suas óperas.
