Em entrevista concedida nesta manhã, em Brasília, o embaixador dos Estados Unidos no Brasil John Danilovich classificou a vitória de Bush como uma afirmação do apoio da maioria dos norte-americanos às políticas interna e externa do atual governo. “A eleição mostrou que a população americana aprovou a performance de Bush nos últimos quatro anos e, por isso, deu a ele outros quatro anos de mandato”, afirmou.

O possível segundo governo Bush, segundo o embaixador, dará continuidade à agenda de proteção aos EUA contra o terrorismo. Danilovich comparou o combate ao terror às guerras contra o nazismo e contra o comunismo.
